All abstract submissions are general. Upon review, they will be placed as either an oral or poster presentation. By submitting, you agree to register and attend the ASME SB3C Summer Bioengineering Conference
A prepared poster presentation on a specified area. It will not be published in the conference proceedings.
A Technical Presentation is a Non-Publication Presentation of an extended abstract that is accepted and scheduled for presentation at a technical session; it is not published in the conference proceedings. Requires a PDF of an extended abstract upon submittal for consideration.
We have developed a multiplexed microfluidic device to assess blood coagulation in the clinic or in the field. The device combines multiple tests into one, mimicking natural blood flow and ensuring safety with disposable components. Leveraging our expertise in blood coagulopathy and microfluidics technology, we are developing and testing technology for improving the diagnosis of blood coagulation status. The device uses biomimetic principles, flowing blood through vascular-like channels that are pre-treated with specific coagulation factors. The technology will be invaluable in many clinical applications, such as trauma surgery, emergency procedures, and infectious diseases.
